Collection: Dowty Factory

The now demolished Dowthy factory in Mriehel was left abandoned for many years, giving me the opportunity to easily photograph the area on numerous occasions. This project's  aim was to capture the impressive size and the unique style of architecture of this premises, keeping in mind the people who earned a living working here.

Malta Rubber opened its flagship O ring factory 'Dowty Seals' in 1969 in Mriehel. During its' peak, it employed over 1300 people. Malta Rubber re-located to Hal Far in 2003 and is now owned and operated by Trelleborg.
